WHAT IS IT?
The deep web is the other 94% of the world's electronically stored data and documents that are not accessible via popular search engines (i.e. Google).

• corporate Intranets and depositories;
• specialized market research, private investigations, and other information broker services; and geo-spatial information services including commercial imagery from around the globe.

WHAT IS FEDERATED SEARCHING?
A key development in maximizing the value of the Internet, federated searching enables users to access many independent data sources and portals at the same time with one user interface and one search query, and then receive that data aggregated in one response. Common search engines only explore documents that are available for consumption by the masses; that is about 6% of the research and data that is stored electronically today.
